Who Can Attend NNLC?

Adults, 18 years and over, who are Washoe County, Nevada residents. 

Do I Have to Pay for My Classes?

No, it's FREE! Through Federal funding and grants we are able to offer these proven educational programs at no cost to you!

How Long Are the Class Sessions?

Most courses are 8 weeks long.

What if I have to Leave the Class in the Middle of the Program?

If you have to stop the program due to work, family or other reasons, please contact our office so that we can arrange an exit exam. Since all of our funding is based on the progress our students make, it is important that all students, even those who can't complete the program are tested to assess progress. 

If I have my GED or High School Diploma can I attend classes at NNLC to improve my skills?

Yes, your initial assessment will indicate which level of class NNLC will place you in. 

What are the GED Tests?

The tests of General Education Development (GED Test) are internationally recognized. When an adult passes the GED Test, the resulting credential certifies that he/she has attained subject matter knowledge and skills associated with High School completion. The GED Test includes the following subject areas:

  • Language Arts, Writing

  • Social Studies

  • Science

  • Language Arts, Reading

  • Mathematics

How long will it take you to be ready to take the official GED Test?

There is no “Pat” or simple answer to this question. It is up to you and depends on your commitment and dedication.

How long does it take to take the official GED Test?

The GED Test is 7 ½ hours long. It is a timed test.

What do I have to score to pass the official GED Test?

You MUST score no less than 410 points on each subject area with an average score of 450 points. And you MUST get a score of no less than 2 on your essay


What if I don’t pass some of the Tests?

If you don’t pass 1 ore more of the tests, the scores on the tests you did pass will be kept for 12 months. You can re-take the tests you didn’t pass any time during the next 12 months without having to pay any additional fee.
