How to Enroll

To enroll in any of NNLC’s instructional programs, you must first go to the NNLC office and go through the intake process, as follows:

Step 1

Go to the NNLC office and meet with our Bilingual Intake Specialist and have her put your name on the enroll list. The Intake Specialist will give you an Admission Record. Your Admission Record gives you the date you return for the Registration Session for the next cycle of NNLC classes.

Step 2

Attend the Registration Session. At this Session you will take an Appraisal Assessment to determine what level of proficiency you are functioning at and be given the date you return for Student Orientation (generally two weeks after Registration).

Step 3

Attend the Student Orientation. At Orientation you will take your pre-assessment that will give NNLC your starting progress score and be given the date you start your classes (generally two weeks after Orientation).

Step 4

Attend your assigned class.

Remember...your education at NNLC is free! NNLC receives money from the federal government to provide your education. To continue to receive money from the federal government to educate you and other students after you leave the program, NNLC must report your progress and attendance to the Nevada Department of Education, Office of Adult Education. Your progress and attendance is all you are asked to invest in your education.

After you have attended 40 hours of instruction, you will take another assessment. The difference between the score you got on your pre-assessment and the score you get on your second assessment will tell us your gain or your progress. After your "40-hour" assessment, you will take another assessment at the end of each 11-week course.

If you need to leave NNLC’s program during a course due to work or family reasons, please contact the NNLC office to take an exit assessment.
